Mrs Nakete Pallangyo

Preschool Teacher

Montessori Certificate in Early Childhood Education, Tanzania

Briefly describe your career (teaching or otherwise) to date.

I have been teaching for fifteen years having graduated from Montessori Teaching College. Since then I have taught in two schools in Tanzania, teaching Early Years and also Kiswahili and Art to Years One to Seven.

Why did you choose teaching as a career and what do you try to instil in your pupils?

I love my job. I love seeing how little children grow and progress from the age of two, where they can't hold a pencil and have little confidence, to the age of four when they can write, draw and are full of confidence.

I encourage children to learn through mistakes.

Apart from your classroom teaching role, what else do you get involved with at the school?

At school, I am also involved in sports, cooking, and games.

In your opinion, what makes Kennedy House special?

Kennedy House is a beautiful and friendly place for the pupils and teachers to learn and work.

Who or what inspires you?

Kennedy House teachers inspire me as they are great role models. The children also inspire me with the way in which they improve and learn so quickly, and are not afraid to have a go at new things.

Tell us something that not a lot of people know about you.

I love expensive perfume!
