CURRICULUM

High Standards and A Passion for Learning

The curriculum of Kennedy House International School is based on the English National Curriculum which has been tailored enhanced to meet the needs of our diverse cohort.

Essentially, this means that in addition to the core curriculum, there are opportunities for our pupils to study Swahili, to learn about the culture, history and geography of Tanzania.

The English National Curriculum is organised into blocks of years called ‘Key Stages’ (KS).  Each Key Stage is divided into separate Year Groups.  to see which Year Group and Key Stage your child would fit into, please refer to the table below.

You can use the menu bar at the top of the page to navigate to our sections detailing each Key Stage in more detail.  For more information on the English National Curriculum, please visit the UK Goverment's website.

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW

High Standards and A Passion for Learning

The curriculum of Kennedy House International School is based on a combination of the Cambridge Primary curriculum and the English National Curriculum which has been tailored enhanced to meet the needs of our diverse cohort.   This allows us to offer your child an internationally recognised benchmark at Primary and Middle levels which does not ignore our context as a globally-conscious international school.

Our school is committed to developing the future leaders of Tanzania and as such, in addition to the core curriculum, there are opportunities for our pupils to study Swahili, to learn about the culture, history and geography of Tanzania.

For our middle school students, we employ the English National Curriculum's Key Stage 3 curriculum, bolstered by assessments from the International Schools Examination Board.  These assessments provide an international recognised standard for your children and the ISEB Common Entrance exams at 13+ are a widely accepted benchmark for many of the top international schools worldwide.

The Cambridge Primary curriculum is split into 'Stages' which correspond with the year groups present in the English system.  A simple breakdown of these year groups is available below.
